Where did you hear it started today? Mines a meteor one but no sign of update yet. Well not thru the phone anyways, having trouble with the Kies application not connecting so haven't tried that.

I did it via KIES... I couldn't get update on the phone...
Not a big deal anyway... I didn't notice speed improvement. I think bettery lasts longer.

What network did you buy it from?

There's a couple of launchers that are only available for ics that people rave about so I'm looking forward to trying them out.I also think ics makes really good improvements to camera and gallery apps and the overall usability of the phone

I bought from Amazon.de with no contact. There is new ver of kies available, download it first. I wasn't able to install ics OTA.

It's available through Kies now. I presume an OTA is the way.

I've updated with Kies, no problem.:)

I'm gonna try checking for the update using kies on a windows laptop because it won't connect on my mac. If that fails how does the Odin option work?

FWIW - I updated on a mac. I also had problems but once I used the Note's task killer to quit all applications prior to connecting it worked without a problem.

Instructions here, but use the ROM from the other link.

i'm guessing the servers are just really busy because it keeps getting to a timeout error at around 30% (which in itself takes around 45mins to reach)

might try doing it over night tonight when hopefully the servers wont be as overloaded. :(

Do you have a download manager? Can you just resume later?

it downloads through kies itself so i had no control over pausing or resuming the download. it worked eventually but took 4 hours in the end to get it right. having problems where the keyboard randomly becomes unresponsive in messaging.
