Official WWE 'A Revolution is coming' thread

    From nodq.com:

As reported earlier this week, a new WWE viral marketing campaign is already underway. The campaign, which states, "A Revolution Is Coming," has launched on the WWE website and will be pushed more heavily starting on Monday.

No word yet on if the campaign will air on television - or whether it is promoting a superstar return/debut, the WWE Network launch or something else.

The video, which is hidden on the WWE.com and appears randomly before certain video content on the site, appears to show flashes of citizen uprisings.

    So, where is this going?

Probably something to do with guys on the Internet recycling Chris Jericho memes to get folks talking... >_>

I NEED to get this out - I hate the word "revolution". From Shane Douglas' awful stable, to the third Matrix installment, it's the most overused and under-performing pitch in entertainment.

Every summer Vince shoots a big angle to take us to the end of the year...but after the Nexus flop, CM Punk's disappointment, and Lesnar's jobbing, I won't hold my breath for an actual revolution. From Lesnar's booking, to hypocritically not allowing Punk to walk Sonnen down to the octagon in Chicago, HHH has proved that the old guard and old way of thinking is as strong, rotten and counter-productive as ever. Maybe it's all just an elaborate scheme to get Vince on TV again. Young blood!

    I think its either:
Hyping the debut of a new TV show, not neccesarily called 'WWE Revolution', but it kind of has a nice ring to it. Maybe that rumoured cruiserwight show? Alternatively, I think it might be for a new stable featuring Dean Ambrose & some other newbies.

Don't think its for just one guy, as one man can't bring about a revolution ( as ridiculous as that sounds in the WWE context where a guy in a sparkly jacket is the harbinger of the end of the world as you know it!)
Also, WWE has been running promos for the network for months now, and its not due to start broadcasting until November so can't see why they'd bother with this fancy cryptic campaign.

I'd actually be okay with Vince on tv again, but not this way.
If it is a new TV show then I'd be hoping to hear intro, pyro, and " Hello and welcome - Jim Ross alongside ...at ringside"

Where do you guys sit on the whole end of the PG era take on these vids?
Would be cool, but just can't see it anytime soon.

It's going to be a big group who invade Raw and run roughshod over everybody and look like a dominant force, creating a big buzz after debuting at the end of a really crappy three hour Raw. They'll then build to a huge team vs. team match at SummerSlam where they'll be beaten and then, despite people insisting they can be rehabbed or rebuilt, they'll never mean a thing again.

I assumed it was the WWE Network until I read this. Now I'm intrigued.

I dont think WWE will be ending PG any time in the future. Whether they start pushing the limits of PG more is another matter.

I think they've WWE have just jumped on the viral bandwagon, and have no real plan for it, per se. They'll probably jut throw something together if it takes off and gets people talking.

I hope not. I like Wade and all but it would be wasted on him.

I'd quite like if it was for a new wrestler like Dean Ambrose to help them get over instead of having them kill jobbers on smackdown alá Ryback

I think he's been working the Smackdown dark matches, not Raw. Either way, can't see them letting him go against Punk straight away.

And they are doing the exact same thing again, this time with Brock Lesnar.

What annoys me about WWE is they shoot some big angle occasionally, it gets over well but then they seem to get scared and retreat back into the normal boring safe territory they've been trodding for years. Look at the Nexus angle, that fell flat after about 3 weeks. Same with CM Punk. That was good for a few weeks then went nowhere. Also more recently with Brock Lesnar. He really should have beaten Cena but of course they had to have SuperCena win. They put on a great match, but Lesnar should have won and Cena still would have got credit for being part of the match. Plus he's such a big star, it wouldn't have mattered if he had lost.

I don't know what this revolution thing is, but I suspect it will either be a complete let-down, or it will be really cool, but will get buried after a couple of weeks.

I thought that too. A dx-style stable could be really cool and work well.

And hopefully follow through on it unlike nexus.

My guess is someone or a stable to challenge John Laurinaitis's stable

They are ancient now but Laurinaitis needs his own stooges. Don't anyone DARE stick up a pic of them 3 Tossers that were on Raw a month or so ago after that quote either.

I always find heel stables work really well. WWE needs one really good heel stable for the faces to work with. Legacy was the last really good stable. Nexus could have been great but as said it didn't get enough of a push. As Bryan has proved since he would have been epic alongside Wade leading that group.

SMPTE is the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, leading me to believe that the video is for the new WWE network.

a return for shane o mac please

You'd imagine he's done with wrestling for awhile given his interest in that sports agency business.
Maybe the return of the DX Faction members! (Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Chyna,X-pac)
    One Can Dream!

    That sounds truly terrible.

Terrible or INCREDIBLE! I want a return of PG James again 'Oh you didn't know your....better call somebody'. Mr. Ass must only be 50, Chyna looks like a cabbage patch kid version of her former self + X-pac has hepatitis c. Its rags to riches.

    From nodq.com:

Starting on May 17th, WWE NXT will hold it’s own tapings, combined with Florida Championship Wrestling starting at 7pm at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. Tickets are free to FSU students with ID as long as they reserve tickets in advance.

PWInsider.com reports that this is being done so that it will make it easier to integrate the WWE developmental talen tinto the mix for NXT. The general hope is that the University feel will result in better crowd reactions, as well as help to upgrade FCW TV to a better look.

I think this is a very interesting development. Frees up a taping timeslot before Raw or Smackdown. In my opinion, this may lend creedence to the idea of these promos hyping a new TV show...

Imagine an all divas only roster who have their own show on Wednesday nights and run their own house-shows and PPV's.

No more pi$$ breaks on the regular PPV's :D

    WWE tweeted...

    Revolution is coming. http://wwe.me/aTARG #WWE

    As3XyorCAAEEiLo.jpg

The link leads to an article...

    Revolution is coming.

You’ve no doubt seen the footage on WWE.com — a short, grainy video filled with quick cuts showing scenes of revolution and revolt from different time periods in recorded history, ending with the ominous promise that, "A Revolution is Coming."

The video offers up more questions than answers, however, and the WWE Universe has been set ablaze trying to figure out what - or who - may ignite such a revolution.

It has been a year where the seemingly unthinkable has happened — in a 24-hour span alone, John Cena faced off against The Rock in a Once in a Lifetime Match at WrestleMania, then felt the effects of Brock Lesnar making his shocking (albeit brief) return to a WWE ring. Therefore, the very idea of a revolution is more than enough to shake the foundations of the WWE Universe. It’s no secret that WWE has a long history of soon-to-debut Superstars releasing video teasers as portents of things to come; could this video be signaling the next major force to be reckoned with inside the squared circle?

Or is it a sign of something else entirely? Does the footage lay down the groundwork for a new movement, something that may change the WWE landscape forever? Perhaps the video alludes to a new pay-per-view event, sweeping changes on Raw and SmackDown, or the next great YouTube show.

Though it’s clear from the footage that a revolution is, in fact, headed our way, questions remain: What is this "revolution," and when is it coming? What do you think the video means? Share your thoughts in the comments section below and add your voice to the coming revolution!

I read that the 8pm slot was to do a pre-show to hype up RAW.

VKM is in charge, WWE can change in seconds :pac:

Can't see how they'll attract them realistically. More romance? more Divas?
