Renault Clio vs VW Golf -advice please!

I'm thinking of getting a newer car. I have a 2004 Mark V Golf, 1.4l petrol with fairly high mileage and i want to get a 2006 or newer. Budget isn't very high and I'm being offered around €3k for my own car in evey dealership I go to.
So, within budget is a 2006 Renault Clio.
I really like the look of it from the website (haven't seen it in person yet). It's a 5 door, 1.2l engine, low miles.
So, my question is...is this a much smaller car than my golf? What's the boot like in comparison to my Golf? I am happy with the boot size in my golf. It needs to be big enough for a baby's pram.
I'm just looking for some advice as I'll have to travel quite a bit to see the clio and don't want to bother if it turns out its an awful lot smaller with only a pokey boot! And are clios a generally reliable car? Thanks in advance!

Its a smaller segment of car. The Clio is Renaults equivelant to a Polo.

Parkers will give you boot sizes and the like.http://www.parkers.co.uk/

My Cousin has a 07 Clio and it feel a lot bigger than the previous model I had. Is it the current model your looing at or a Clio Campus? There was an overlap of 3 years or so.

Thanks for your reply and that really useful link to that website. It's just a regular clip from what I can see-a hatchback. Sorry I am clueless when it comes to cars..in lucky to even know what type my own is! Thanks again, appreciate it

Any particular reason for changing? If it was me and the Golf is going good I would hold on to that, the cost to change versus the tiny saving on fuel and tax isn't worth it. Perhaps keep the Golf until 2014 where from that NCT on it has to have one annually.
