We're on the back of arguably our best performance of the season so far. I'd be hopeful of taking the three points.

Still annoyed about the stupid kick off time.

half one on a saturday, jaysis.

I wonder when will Shamrock travel.

They'd be mad not to travel on Friday. Extra expense for them as well as the money we lose.

    TV games ain't worth a ****e.

Be very happy with a point against Drogs.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Bolger suspended, Rossi and Chambers injured. Gonna be a weak midfield, so maybe they will. Still, if we finish the first series of games unbeaten it'll be pretty good.

We're going to struggle against UCD big time I'd say, I'd take a draw.

You might be right in your opinion of City;) I'd gladly take a draw, wouldn't be shocked at a loss, a win would really be too much to even think of.

and so it continues where Shels fan has pop at City for no reason:pac:

Take point against Pats now, but 2-0 to Pats looks on the cards.

Massive game Friday night against the Blaa's. A win will keep things going nicely. A point wouldn't be the end of the world...

Going for a 3rd win in a row, so hopefully can take something up at Oriel Park.

Dan Murray would want to seriously up his game for Cork City to get a result up in Inchicore.

"When she was bad she was horrid" comes to mind.

We have good players in this team so won't be that surprised if they do it.

LTFC aren't running a bus to Waterford. :(

Anyone any advice on how to get down from Dublin even?

From Dublin?? A bus or train down and then a five minute taxi ride to the stadium!

In a weird way playing Cork is a Must Win game for us, Bolger Chambers and Rossiter out mean Bucko will have to find a midfielder from somewhere.

The fact its a must win game i can see us changing from 433 to 442 with Fagan and Kelly up front and losing. Atm only 2 missed penos have us being top and tbh noone i have seen so far has come close to being better than our 1st 11. We dont have that 11 now for 6-8 weeks so makes fridays game important for our aspirations :)

Shels fans any tips for the weekend? :p

What do you think of Fagan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

What do you think of Fagan?

Brilliant but like Forrester and a few others, we only keeping them warm. Wont be here much longer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,597 ✭✭✭dan1895

Can we please stop the bitchiness on what is an otherwise excellent weekly thread, it's getting tiresome.

Anyway, i'm saying score draw out in the bowl.

Its only a bit of banter sure.

Hard to be confident going to Sligo when they are in such good form. Bit of a 'hope rather than expectation' mentality. I think I must be the only hoop/Sligo fan who is happy with the kickoff time, back to Friday night football for me!

Hitch a ride off one of the players maybe? :D

Bit of a disaster if we lose on Saturday to be honest although I can't see any unbeaten runs lasting this season. Going on form, Sligo have te be favourites but if Kenny picks the right team we can get a result. More worried about us conceding than scoring which is a change.

Rossiter out for the season, Bolger Chambers and Russell out tomorrow.

I have no clue who will play midfield :D

Won't make our game, but that might be a good thing cos I can see us getting annihilated by Drogs :(

Baraclough is calling them Shamrock too. Nice.
“I don’t think Shamrock played particularly badly against UCD but 2-0 is a tricky lead sometimes and UCD fought back. They will have the same attitude as when we went to Drogheda, wanting to bounce back with a big performance.

Team News...Hopefully Joey is okay to play.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,761 ✭✭✭AgileMyth

To be honest I don't think Joey should start even if hes fit. We were brilliant without him last week. Joey tends to slow play down.

Get the ball out wide and we'll win it. Hopefully Powell starts for them.

Hopefully, he's been excellent all season. Probably the best out of the back 5.

On form, Sligo should win rather easily. They should be disappointed if they dont get the three points. Ill go with Sligo winning 4-2.

In saying that, if Sivves plays like he did last season and Kearra starts we could easily win. Not a game for brennan to be starting, and I assume Kenny learned from the UCD game that taking the best player on the pitch off...tends to backfire.

The isolation of the Belfield Bowl doesn't temper that enthusiasm? :)

Hopefully McCormack plays in midfield, McCabe goes to the bench along with Brennan and Turner, the Finn-GON-Twigg triumverate reforms and preferably Gannon at right back.

    You're dropping Turner and Kavanagh...

Finn and Turner vs Derry was our most dominating midfield performance. That and Turner always puts a shift in against Sligo. That and Kavanagh in his last three games (albeit two from the bench) has been the brightest spark in the games.

Hard to say about McCabe too, think he has the most assists this season..and despite hiding a lot...we dont really have a replacement bar brennan.
