They are paying more than I currently get in a relatively good private sector office job.

Not complaining at all by the way, find it refreshing if nothing else.

yeah i know its a good wage for a entry level job but most of the big companies pay that amount and even more for their interns. Its a good thing if you can get one!

I was considering applying for this,it sounds like a fantastic internship, didn't in the end though.

Don't suppose anyone has heard back yet?

The ad said they plan on holding interviews at the end of June/start of July so would have hoped to hear back by now..

Yeah maybe.I've applied for several internships like this with gov departments and always received a reply even though I was unsuccessful so was thinking this would be the same.But maybe it's not!

I emailed the Dept about this and got this in response:

''The closing date for applications for this post was Friday 25 May. The indicative dates given for interview in the advertisement was late June/early July.

There have been a huge number of applications which are currently being processed and shortlisted. All candidates will be advised of the outcome of the shortlisting process as soon as possible.

At this stage we expect that the shortlisted candidates will be called for interview in mid July.All unsuccessful cadidates will also be contacted to inform them that they have not made it through to the interview process.''

I applied for this position as well, still haven't heard anything back which is a bit ridiculous considering it has almost been two months since the closing date!

Yeah it's a bit mad alright!

Fair enough they probably had loads of applications but at the same time they've had almost 2 months to process them!

Hopefully we'll hear back by the end of this week..

I've an interview on Monday 30th too, know someone who is on the Tuesday. I'd be interested to know if anyone who does an interview tomorrow is told any more details about what they'll be doing...

How did the lucky people who got an interview find the interview?

I thought some of the questions where very tough so much so that I'm not even sure the questions were even answered. Does anyone know how many positions there are? I was told one figure and my friend was told another.
