Just seen alot of oil around the EGR valve while I was changing the oil

Should I be worried is the EGR on the way out ?

    Car is driving perfectly though

Most of them do that once they have a few miles on them. I wouldn't be overly worried tbh.

I have the same issue with my Golf TDI. where does this oil come from? When I take the rubber pipe off the EGR there is oil inside also. I plan on taking it off and cleaning but would like to know what the cause is.

CCV vapour meets the hot exhaust gas from the EGR and causes condensation sludge. It's a good idea to clean them out. I've a blanking plate fitted to my pipe as it's a real dirty job I didn't want to do it a second time. The stuff is carcinogenic, so wear gloves, clothes you can throw out after. Treat it like dexter's kill room :D.
