Having a large piece of ground to one side of our home,we were thinking of fencing it off and opening a new entrance .we were thinking of sowing christmas tree in it .Would there be a rigmarole about this if we just opened up a gap of about 9-10 foot and put a gate in it ?

You require planning permission, contact your local planning department. Most Eng, arch's etc would put this together in less than a day, there will also be some fixed charges like a planning pack of maps, add in the paper and 34€ council fee

    Some things to consider.
    • Is the land yours?
    • Are the trees to be sold to the public or jsut grown for cover.
    • Would the entrance be from the road to this new site or from the house site to the new site?

planning is prob required, the specifics will depend on the questinos above

Thanks for replying, firstly i was thinking of sowing them to sell eventually, maybe sow about 200 ,the rest i was going to put the chickens and ducks out on,the dogs as well,This piece of ground is only 80 yards long and about 35 wide .It is more to do with tidying up around the place really. The entrance would be onto a minor road.

Well the trees being sold is a commercial operation, so that might affect planning issues. And the roaf openign will require planning anyway.

Nothing majpr. As mentioned about, abouts a day involved in putting the package together.

You need a farm or at least a field in a farm to apply for an agricultural entrance :)

Just have a quick read at the forum charter also please as we dont allow discussions on ways to circumvent the planning process
