Difference Between Euro and Jap Import BodyParts??

    Hi there,

Firstly apologies if I am posting this in the wrong place.

    My partner drives a 1998 CIVIC Mk IV Hatchback (EG) (1.3 16V (EG3), 1343cc)

Last week someone drove into the back of her destroying the rear bumper.

Obviously sourcing a replacement bumper for the Civic from the likes of Motor Factors etc.. is not a problem, and cheap, but is there any incompatibility due to the car being a Jap import?

I've been told by some sources that a replacement 'euro'bumper would be fine, whereas others say it'd need to be a specific Jap imported rear bumper...

Any advice on the matter would be MUCH appreciated :)

    Thanks in advance :)

Some of the Jap stuff have the number plate holder built into the rear bumper where as the Euro ones would have it positioned higher up in the boot which could mean the wiring is different. Euro models might also have rear fog lights integrated into the rear bumper whereas rear fog lights were not a requirement in the Jap domestic market.

Might be worth trying a few scrap yards.

    @ OP
    Head over to Honda Haven.
Plenty of guys over there selling bit and pieces along with scrapping cars. You should have no problem getting one.
