Some fecker keyed my car last week. They deserve to be shot in my books. Extra annoyed cause I only got the car a month ago

The scrape goes the whole way down the passenger side of the car from front to back bumper. And is very obivious

Whats the best way to cover up something like this? Was talking to my sister who used to work in the trade and she said black car wax. I've also heard of people using shoe polish. Obviously its a black car, just in case ye are wondering

Where can you get black car wax? i thought wax only comes in one colour - clear

    Thanks for the help

happened to my bro few months ago, these people should be forced to bite the curb and get their heads split, makes my blood boil.
Depending on the scratch there is one way to make it less visible or disappear,if its deeper then the paint, beyond clear coat not much can be done, otherwise get 3000-2000 grid wet sandpaper and gently start rubbing the area, one spot at the time, start with the 2000-2500 moving towards 3000 grit and keep area wet and see if there is improvement, might look rough after a bit of rubbing but main task is to move paint towards the scratch area, then loads of cutting and buffing compounds.Only thing id be worried how thick is the cars paint cause Japanese cars tend to have a very tiny layer of paint over them,so this method would make it worse.
    heres example
    hope it helps.

By god i'd be fair nervous trying that on a car.
With my old car i washed it with a bad sponge and scratched it. Lesson learned that time. I don't think i'd have the courage to attack it with sandpaper even with that video.

Haven't checked the insurance policy for vandalism, as i would be slow in getting it resprayed as it could happen again. The area i work isn't the best so i'm not overly surprised it happened.

I just want a quick fix if there is one. Just not the sand paper. Unless anyone knows someone that does that kind of work professionally.

If your car got keyed and you claimed on insurance im guessing you lose your excess but will it effect your NCB if you have full no claims protection ?

not worthit to claim, because in two years time you will overpay them double for that respray, plus loose some bonus.
can you throw any pics of the keyed area ?
as i said depending on deepeness it might be 20 minutes of hard cut like maguiers and proper buffing+wax that wont cost you more then 100e.

its not that deep a scratch. I'm away at the moment but will throw some up at the weekend when i get back

By 'not deep' does that mean that there's still paint there or has all the paint been scraped away?

If there's still paint and the scratch isn't obvious by running your fingernail over it you could use some t-cut or polish.
Don't be too intimidated by the sandpaper approach as the higher grades as used for polishing
