From Vodafone to UPC

Hello all.

I was having a look a changing over from vodafone to UPC and just a have a couple of questions.

So the quote I got on UPC was €45.50 for:

Fibre Power 25mb - Broadband & Home phone with freetime world and an add on Anytime World.

Question 1:

We get DSFA allowance of €22.59. So would that bill be €22.91 or would it only deduct from the phone bill.

Question 2:

With the '25mb' speed. What download speed do you currently get on UPC with this package?

With UPC you generally get the actual speed that is sold. So 25mbs is 25mbs.

Im on their 25mb package and I usually get the pretty much the full amount. With fibre there is no excuse to be getting much less than what is advertised. The actual download speed obviously depends on where you are downloading from, but I would expect get over 2mb/s download if Im pulling down from a decent source.

Your bill will be for the full amount. You'll need to contact DSP to arrange to have your allowance paid directly to your bank account. See HERE

Depending on timing, when you receive the monthly allowance in your bank account you could always pay it online, by phone or through Post Office to UPC so as your bill will be reduced by that amount each month.
