I went to boots a couple of days ago to get the morning after pill because i missed one of my regular pills. The pharmacist told me to start my next pack straight away with out the 7 day break because I was in the last 7 of my pack. She also told me that if my period was more than 5 days late to take a pregnancy test. If I don't take the 7 day break from my pill, doesn't that mean that I won't have my normal withdrawal bleed/period anyway? Can anyone tell me if they've had a similar experience?

Yeah, that sounds weird. When I was on the pill, the whole reason I'd have ever taken two packs back-to-back was so that I'd miss a period.

I'm pretty sure she meant your next period - ie the one due after this one - no harm giving the chemist or your GP a call to clarify though!

OP she would have meant your next period, after the next pack is done.

Read your information leaflet if you haven't already - a disruption to the pill can cause light spotting but generally yes you should miss your period if you aren't taking a break week. Get in touch with your doctor if you're unsure.

    Hi HungryFish.
Best to call the pharmacist or your GP for clarification.
    Best of luck
