I have a 1tb drive with about 400gb of photos
Copied them all to a 500gb drive but left the old folder on the 1tb
Then worked on them for a while
Decided to go back to the 1tb drive
Renamed the old folder on the 1tb "photos (old)"
Copied over the photos from the 500gb
    Deleted the old folder
1 now have 100gb free and my photos folder is 810GB????
My photos just doubled in size?

Anyone any idea what happened here? The folders do not contain double file names and i cant find any huge files

The space from the deleted folder is probably being reserved by the recycle bin. Emptying this should do the trick.

    Found the problem

Went through all the subfolders one by one, there was one named videos with all my photos in it 3 folder layers away from root. Confused as to how that happened but its sorted
