Wow where did that run come from?

Homecomingqueen was electric. Would love to see the times of it, completely wiped the field.

Didn't see it coming. I think Ryan Moore just made a fool of everyone.

I didn't realise just how brilliantly bred Homecoming Queen is. 3 parts sister to Dylan Thomas, and to Remember When who was placed in the Oaks, as well as being a half sister to Queen's Logic. Was always going to improve at 3 on her pedigree

Well actually she's not a 3 parts to Dylan or Remember when... I can see why you would think that, but she's not

    How is she not?

Shes not by a brother to danehill nor is she by a brother to danehill dancer, dont get me wrong she is a slightly closer relation than a half sort of like a 5/8 situation

    I don't get it?

Why mention Danehill Dancer, a son of Danehill, to disprove a statement about a daughter of Holy Roman Emperor (who is another son of Danehill).......

I'm not a breeding expert but Born To Sea (by Invincible Spirit who is by Green Desert) is referred to as a 3 parts brother to Sea The Stars (by Cape Cross, another son of Green Desert)

That train of thought would make Dylan Thomas & Homecoming Queen slightly closer relatives. Since I've only heard full, 3 parts & half siblings ever mentioned surely it makes her a 3 parts sister to Dylan Thomas? I stand to be corrected of course

Look at the pedigrees of holy roman, danehill and danehill dancer and tell me how their brothers...?

    Nobody did.....

Also how would being by a brother to Danehill Dancer (a son of Danehill) make her a 3 parts sister but being by Holy Roman Emperor (another son of Danehill) not?

How would being by a brother to Danehill Dancer make her a 3 parts sister? But being by Holy Roman Emperor not?

Danehill Dancer is a son of Danehill, not a brother or half brother.

No offence to anyone but I'm gonna take Coolmore's word for this one:

That was my thinking exactly Colonel and it was actually that link you put up where I first read about the close relation.

Frankel is said to be a 3 parts brother to Bullet Train, who is Saddlers Wells x Kind.
Frankel is Galileo (by Saddlers wells) x Kind. Same scenario for Dylan Thomas and Homecoming Queen.

Lets not get hung up on breeding, She won very well and will keep on improving.

    Homecoming Queen > Holy Roman Emperor ( Danehill x L´On Vite ) x Lagrion ( Diesis x Wrap It Up )

Remember When > Danehill Dancer ( Danehill x Mira Adonde ) x Lagrion ( Diesis x Wrap It Up )

Dylan Thomas > Danehill x Lagrion ( Diesis x Wrap It Up )

The 3 siblings all share 3 out of 4 parts of their makeup. If someone could explain the subtle differences any better than them all being 3/4 siblings I'd appreciate it.

Two full brothers mated with the same dam would produce two offspring with 4 out of 4 parts of their makeup in common. What would that make the offspring 7/8, or theoretically full siblings which wouldn't really make any sense.

    From Wikipedia:

In the horse breeding industry, the term "half-brother" or "half-sister" only describes horses which have the same dam, but different sires. Horses with the same sire but different dams are simply said to be "by the same sire", and no sibling relationship is implied. "Full" (or "own") siblings have both the same dam and the same sire. The terms paternal half-sibling, and maternal half-sibling are also often used. Three-quarter siblings are horses out of the same dam, and are by sires that are either half-brothers (i.e. same dam) or who are by the same sire.

Full/Half Brothers or Sisters: Full brothers or sisters are out of the same dam and sire.
Half-brothers or sisters have the same dam but a different sire.
Brothers/Sisters in blood: By the same sire out of full sisters or by full brothers out of the same dam.
Three-quarter Brothers/Sisters: Horses having the same dam whose sires are by the same sire but out of a different dam.
