    Hi folks.

I am trying to change the Pollen filter in a 01Avensis but I got 2 filters of my motor factors. I found the one beside the clutch but where does the other one go???

    Cheers..

On most of the newer Toyotas it goes in behind the glovebox, usually there's a screw either side to remove and it will pop out and the filter is behind it.

I see that on another forum but I can see nothing.

    No problem Corkie.
    What engine have you got...?
The diagram above is for the 2.0 d4d diesel.

In the drivers side footwell, peel the carpet back from the centre console there should be two little plastic mushrooms holding it to the console, right forward against the bulkhead, beside the footrest you will see a rectangular flap with two tabs sticking out of it.
Squeeze and pull them and the flap comes away.
There is two filters one pulls straight out the top one which is thinner pulls down then out.

Been a while since Ive done one but from memory one of the filters goes in then upwards and the second goes straight in and prevents it from coming down,
The upper one may be still stuck in there.

While we are on the same car, its well worth sealing the airbox to intercooler seal in the wing.
I pulled the airbox out to clean it and the foam seal was well past its best, I redid it with some stick on foam seal and its made a big difference to power. I suspect it was drawing hot air from the engine bay before.
It doesn't take long only 3 x 10mm bolts hold the airbox lower in place.
