Cole and his commentary

Is WWE's get Cole to piss on everything or cheer every heel action finally over?

He has a use as a heel but in the last couple of months he has delivered some really good commentary.

This week for example, when Brock lost it with HHH or when Bog Johnny went nuts on RAW this week Cole actually panned them for it. In the past he would have cheered thme on just because they were heels. But by reacting with outrage he actually added to the segments.

His change of attitude towards Bryan has helped him become a bigger star imo. Watching the extreme Rules match between Sheamus and Bryn he put both guys over and by doing so he helped the match seem even more important.

I hope it continues as I really think it makes the whole product more interesting.

Anyone else noticed a change/improvement?

Was there any sort of kayfabe reasoning for him turning back into old Michael Cole from his poor heel turn?

Matt Stryker trumps him in every way but yeah i've noticed he's not as over the top as he used to be which is good. in fact i've watched really old matches from 2001-ish and his commentary is fine. it's around when he moved to Raw that he became unbearable

I like him more now, when he was a heel he often came across as far too whiny, particularly whenever Bryan was out.


Also, anyone who isn't Booker is fine by me!

cole sucks as a commentator I think, always has.

When he's not going into his excesses - the fake laugh, overusing his catchphrase once DX pointed it out and needing to have the last word - Cole's more than capable. I'd say there's still an element of his not being Jim Ross being held against him.

I think it's only really Lawler that barely adds anything these days. Even Booker T tries to give kayfabe context to goings on right there.

I dont know if anyone watches Shimmer but Portia Perez is brillant.

Portia is hilarious.

It's insane to think she got the chance just by asking about half an hour before the show started. Danger was out so Prazak was going it solo until she asked if she could try it. She had never even done it before.

really? i guess it's one of the things you can either do or can't. though the commentary not being recorded live probably helps

back when he was a face Jonathan Coachman was pretty good as well but just got annoying when he was turned heel
