One Christian responding to another about Christian persecution... Am kind of curious about what people here think of the discussion.

Why don't you tell us a little about the video? What exactly is the point being made?

I was hoping to see what the opinions of people here were. The video speaks for itself. I ought not condense it further than that. If a 20 minute video is too long, then that is fine.

Hummm... OK. I'll pass on the mystery video for now.

Just a tip: Not everyone can view videos (for a variety of reasons), so it's often a good idea to provide a summary of what the video is about if you want to initiate a discussion on it.

We're lucky insofar as there is no significant persecution in the West at present. That is to say that there is none at present. I believe eventually it will arise in the West, this is not necessarily a bad thing. It will mean that Christians will stand out more for their belief in the Gospel. Jesus and other apostles teach us that Christians will suffer as a result of speaking the truth about Him.

Genuine struggles and trials for Christians might show people what Christianity is really about, and some will turn and accept Jesus as their Saviour in these last days (between Jesus' ascension and the present). Many others won't.

That is that He came into the world to save sinners, and that Jesus died on the cross for all mankind. If one repents and turns to Christ one will receive eternal life, should one reject Jesus, His mercy, and dominion they will be condemned eternally in hell.

That truth if proclaimed wholeheartedly will bring hostility unfortunately, even if it is proclaimed in love. The question is are Christians willing to sacrifice for the Gospel? - I believe people will. Jesus assures us that Christians will be persecuted, this is a sign that we are in the last days (Mark 13, Matthew 24).

Christians are undergoing significant persecution in many middle-eastern countries right now and I am surprised that the churches in Europe and America are not making more of it and trying to draw political attention to it.

On Thursday May 17th in Westminster Abbey there is a 'Night of Witness' for Christians who suffer persecution and all those who have lost loved ones due to persecution. It's meant to highlight the call for religious freedom especially for those Christians living in fear every single day they practice their faith especially those in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. It's a rather large event and one of the first of it's kind - It's very easy to forget in the west or be complacent about freedom, but the truth is that many Christians in the world are often on the receiving end of hostile and vicious attacks just for practicing their Christian faith.

People who can't make it can submit a prayer or message of solidarity for the prayer wall at

jezuzfreek777: "Ashley Maddison rabble rabble disgusting rabble rabble Tim Tebow handsome rabble rabble Ashley Maddison disgusting rabble rabble".

What the hell is the Lamborghini example about? jezuzfreek777 is confused.

In an overwhelmingly christian country, he wants to whinge about persecution? This 'freek' makes no sense, his in-car-speech is pointless but I hope he had a good day out with his daughter at the cinema and kept his thoughts on Maddison and Tebow to himself.

BTW, Brian Cowen looks better in that hat. :pac:
