Red light on front of S2?

I noticed earlier that to the right of the front facing camera on my S2 there's a little red light that stayed on for a while before disappearing all of a sudden?

I've no idea what its for or why it came on. It can't be a good sign I presume?

Any idea of what it is or what I can do to check it out?

Very dull red light? That's the proximity sensor, it uses infrared. It should only be on during a call or whenever it's needed.

yeah, its gone though now. Maybe it just didn't turn off at the end of a call I suppose.
