Used Car Dealers Prices

Ive ended up being sensible and decided to go with a 04-05 1.6 Civic.

Ive been looking around and Honda main dealers dont seem to have many but found this one

    1.6 Civic

Its priced at €6950, it does have low mileage.

But the highest price ive found is at €5400 from a used car dealer, granted not a Honda dealer.

Question is what would someone expect to get off that price of €6950 for a cash deal?

I cant see how it can be priced so much higher then any used car dealer.

It's going to be a 7 or 8 year old car so well out of manufacturers warranty, I wouldn't worry whether your buying it from a Honda main dealer or not.

I would always expect 10% off without hesitation on a cash deal but would aim to get 20% off. All depends on the car really if it's a nice colour, nice condition you may only get 10-15% off.

Crazy money for a 7 year old Civic.

Here is a private seller at a realistic price:

You are paying main dealer prices for the comfort and peace of mind of the warranty and the association alot of people put on low mileage cars being a preceived better buy. The way I see, get the private seller's car checked out by somebody who knows their beans and put some of the money you saved by buying private aside for any surprise problems down the road.
