    Hi lads,

Am heading over to Wales in the next week or two to play Royal St David. Has anyone played it and have feedback on the course? How does it compare to say European Club or Carton House... both of which I have played.

Will be the first time playing golf outside Ireland with a few lads and looking forward to it, seems tough course though!!

The only Welsh links I've played is Ashburnham near Llanelli and I thought that was terrific. A real gem of a links. I'd put it on a par with Baltray over here. Considering Royal St.Davids is ranked consistently above Ashburnham in the rankings, I don't think you've anything to worry about. Hopefully the weather behaves. Enjoy.

I played RSD a few years back - super course - holds a lot of amateur championships. would rank very well with some of our best links courses. Not a difficult as The European but few are. IMO as good as a links as Portmarnock.
