    Lads,
am going to buy new irons and, after a fitting, was recommended that I get either Ping G20 or Wilson DI11.
The Ping irons felt better at the fitting, but the Wilson felt pretty good too.
There is approximately €200 of a difference in price, and am just wondering if the Ping are really that much better than the Wilson, is it worth paying €200 more?
Anyone here have an opinion on this?

I don't know a whole lot about either to be honest, but the Pings will certainly hold their re-sale value far better than the Wilsons and I'd say are probably a better iron. If you can afford the extra €200, thats where I'd be leaving my cash.

Bought a set of ping irons last year, i didn't like them but had no problem shifting them on to the club pro for a good price so maybe keep that in mind. i was told that in the long term the ping irons are aimed at the lower handicapped player(i'm off 16) so they didn't suit my game .

I got a brand new set of Di9's last year and love playing with them, remember they are aimed at a higher handicapper / improver though.

Thanks for the replies lads, my handicap is 20, but I'm not playing to that, I'm getting .1 added to it every competition, and I'm really looking for it to go in the opposite direction.
I'm not blaming my irons for this, but the clubs I have were a starter kit, stock stuff off the shelf, they don't suit me at all now, and just want to get clubs that will help me improve.

how's your short game? that's where most handicaps get cut or increased. i've learned enough over the years that it's all about in and around the greens. the lower the handicap, the better the putter.

Once you're keepin the ball in play yep i agree :) No point losing drives and being able to get up and down for 8 :D

wilson make very good under rated golf clubs - they dont quite have the prestige of titleist, ping, mizuno but their irons are very good and great value compared to others. i did a lot of research into clubs 4 years ago when purchasing my first set and ended up going for Ci6's and i still have them and probably wont change for a while yet

Not that it will influence your decision, but Wilson irons have won more majors than any other iron. Great irons have had 2 sets myself and could not fault either.
