Facebook check in tag problem

I normally use opera mobile and can easily check into a place and tag a friend. But last night I couldn’t, I tried the built in Nokia browser and got the same.

It’s coming up you don’t have any friends named “ “ when I search, I have a five page list of recently messaged and all friends link is greyed out.

I have tried the full site, but the phone doesn’t support the full site properly. The mobile app won’t let me tag people when I share location.

I have tried changing security etc on my account

    Any ideas?

Facebook may have been having a "moment" as it does from time to time. Also possible that your GPS couldn't locate you.

You can't check in on the desktop version of FB.

At one stage I couldn’t search for places and then I could, but I still get the friends line when I try searching for their name

Funny you mention GPS, I can via ovi maps share location and it uses the same system as the maps to position me. One of the lads has a HTC phone and he went to share location and said it picked up where he was.

I’m guessing that the generalized Facebook I’m using on Nokia isn’t going to have stuff like the HTC etc has and can’t use my GPS like ovi maps

You can share a location which is more or less the same, but tagging friends is almost impossible as it’s just a Nokia using opera mobile

I have a similar problem on my Nokia using Opera. It started out with Opera Mini, but seems to have spread to Opera Mobile. It's as if the browser has lost the ability to see the location, and the Facebook for Nokia app is dire.

No solution I'm afraid - other than searching for venues by name to check-in.
