Cyborg R.A.T. 3 mouse on Linux

I got this gaming mouse(Cyborg R.A.T. 3) as I play a lot of games on Windows..and it looked pretty..but sometimes I just like to do general computing tasks so I like Ubuntu for that, but the mouse has problems with Ubuntu(or any Linux distro for that matter)
After a few seconds of using it stops responding to everything expect the currently selected window, I've heard of work arounds for this by adding some lines into "xorg.conf"
I do this but it makes no difference.

    Any help on this?
