I failed the essay part of an English exam, think the mark was a little too harsh to be honest but I am just wondering what will happen now or can I appeal it?

    Hi,

First thing you should do is talk to the lecturer. He/She can go through what you did right and wrong.

If you still feel it's harsh after that, talk to both Rob and and administration member in the department. Just saying now though, it's not likely unless there's a serious error in marking that the result will be overturned, unfortunately.

As I am in final year and have never received less than 60% in essays it was a shock to the system. I have not changed answering style/technique that much so, am perplexed. I have read and re-read the essay and I feel that I answered the question asked and provided textual refs to back up statements, my structure and grammar were not faulted either. I know I made one historical mistake in it but that shouldn't cause such a bad mark, should it? (Englsh essay)

This is for Irish Studies II? Did you get it in on time? Plagiarise? Talk to Sinead Kennedy, if she finds a problem you'll have a case!
