Cork Hip-Hop

I was more curious than anything else, is there anyone in Cork that would be interested in doing something a little different? I would like to start up a rap/hip-hop group with anyone interested, more for our own enjoyment than anything else.

Small bit of background on myself - I'm 25, I've been singing in rock and metal bands now for about 8 years. I have only become interested in this genre really in the last 2/3 years (up until which point I thought all rap was rubbish I'm ashamed to say!) but have truly come to love it since. Being a relative newcomer, my influences are probably quite predictable - Nas, early Dre & Snoop, Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, Big L, Biggie, Cypress Hill, Warren G, Gang Starr, Ice T, Jay-Z, Mos Def, Black Star, Outkast, Big Pun, this should give you a decent idea, I'm always discovering new artists though.

Not really expecting a massive amount of interest in this but I'm very open to suggestions. Not sure if people would like to approach it from a live-band or DJ/rapper angle, or even a DJ and a group of rappers if that would appeal. Thanks for the reply Mossie, that's a very good question!

More than anything, I was interested in seeing what kind of interest people would have in a project like this in Cork as I don't know of anything of the sort happening locally and I've rarely if ever seen an ad on here with the intention of starting a hip-hop act.

I suppose in a live band scenario what I would be looking for would be drums, bass and keys. Possibly guitar at a later point but I think those three would be a decent starting point. I would be putting myself forward as rapper/singer, but if there was interest from other aspiring rappers I'd be only delighted to hear it!
