i have a busienss and i do p35 returns and vat returns myself and get my accountant to do the bigger stuff like end of year returns etc

I have been having so much trouble with ROS online service i am sick of it at this stage.

Is it possible to just p35 and vat returns by post or does everything have to be done online these days?

e-filing is being rolled out at the moment, and depending on whether you're a sole trader or a Ltd co., and the size of your business, you may already be obliged to file electronically. If you aren't already, it's not far off anyway, so there's not much point swimming against the tide...

How much trouble can you be having with ROS, if you have the figures for your VAT return it's a simple matter of:
    1. Login
    2. File an online return
    3. Select tax type (VAT) - return type (VAT3) - period to file for.
    4. Enter T1, T2 and calculate (E1 & E2 as well).
    5. Once you're happy the figure is correct, sign and submit.

I don't see how it could be much simpler TBH. If you can operate an email account you can use ROS!

Can you get Accountant to show you how it's done. Once you get the hang of it , you'll be flying it and it is really helpful with keeping on top of your taxes. Also check the Revenue's website www.revenue.ie I think they have demo videos.
