One Parent Family Allowance - child now 18 - what happens?

Friend of a friend has been claining one parent family allowance for her only child. That child turns 18 in June and she's been told she will have to claim job seekers allowance now instead of OPF allowance... Will this happen automatically or will she have to go to SWO?

She will have to go to her local Social Welfare office.
