Does it need to be an analog scope? You'll pick up a cheap digital scope for less than €300. Even deal extreme sell them, I have a rigol one and find it very good...

I just find that analogue scopes are more "real time" than digital scopes. I probably will upgrade to a digital scope eventually, but for now a 20MHz dual channel analogue scope would be perfect.

Do you mean you want a CRT oscilloscope v's an LCD one, or you want a true analog scope.

An analog scope is very limited in what it can capture. If the waveform doesn't repeat, you won't be able to see it.

You'll get a new digital scope for much the same money, better in the long run, IMO.

I know its a long shot but why don't you contact one of the third level colleges they will have old Scopes and may donate one to you for free.
