    Hiya, just found this forum..

Would appreciate feedback on this track - kinda NIN meets RATM style I suppose... industrial electronic rap rock? That sounds poxy!

I know it needs work - I am by no means a professional producer. Just wondering if anyone had any production pointers, and also what their thoughts were on the track musically? It's everyone's cup of tea I suppose but... yeah

    sound-ah!

good tune...liking it a lot... production wise i think its lacking balls. id probably put a bigger reverb on the chorus vocal and have that vocal pasted or double tracked 50% left and right. id pan the toms slightly and add more bass end / compression to them (maybe distort them very slightly) and consider using a real snare sound as that 808/909 ish one isnt sounding heavy enough.

    lacking balls ???

i 'd say this track would blow a club pa to pieces :)

i think the drums and the super low end bass bit needs to be turned down a bit ( or bring the vocals and rest up a bit ) and some comperssion and buss compression to thicken and glue a bit - i think the drums / drums transients stick out a bit too much.

otherwise , i think its cool

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate the reply.

I went at this again last night for about 3 hours - don't know if it's better or worse ( ) but I saved both copies so I'm covered.

The whole thing is losing its sense of meaning after so many hours! - i think i need a week or so away from it!

I got stuff mastered by someone else one time and i really didn't like the job he did - sucked all the life out of the track and made it very poppy - so I want to try do as much as possible myself though i am quite an amature so it's a slog.

A lot of that rawness and choppy drum sound are kinda intentional and i don't want to blur them out too much...

Regarding your bass comment - you are probably right - you see I am from a more dance music production background and so the low end in tracks like these tends to be far less overpowering than with dance where bass is key so i suppose i need to bear that in mind.
