Check it out on Trip Advisor too - a wider audience but...

I have been to Egypt 3 times in the last 10 years - El Gouna, Luxor and most recently Sharm El Sheikh.

Stayed in All Inclusive (including alcohol) 5* standard resorts for great value - you have the option to pretty much stay cocooned and away from the perceived trouble (of which there is none to see in Sharm) or go out of the resort on long or short trips and see other parts of Egypt.

In Sharm you have a Coral reef near to the hotels and can walk out significant distance before being even waist deep (some complain about that in that it is long walk for a swim!!) - it is great to walk out amongst the Coral and fish.

Food was great in our hotels, no dodgy tummy, people are really nice (with the exception of certain other nationality of tourist with whom you will share the buffet (see Trip Advisor...).

    Direct flights from Ireland.
