Could my GF be pregnant?

I had sex with my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago and long story short, while we used protection however, she inserted her hand into her vagina while unknowingly having some semen on her fingers. She took the morning after pill but now her period is late.

I'm doing my best not to freak out but am starting to worry as I am in no way ready to be a parent, and neither is she. She want's to wait a few more days before taking a pregnancy test but the waiting is killing me. Surely the chances of her being pregnant are very, very slim but I'm really starting to worry now. Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

The morning after pill effectively triggers a period so her cycle being off kilter after taking it is perfectly normal.

OP, you won't know until your girlfriend takes a pregnancy test. This is the only advice anyone can give you.

If your girlfriend's period is already late, the test result is likely to be very accurate, especially if she takes it first thing in the morning.

Maybe she "feels" a period coming on, and just wants to wait and see. I know regularly, even if mine is slightly late I get certain symptoms for a few days before that tells me it's on the way.

I think she is being a bit unfair to you if you are genuinely worried and upset by not doing a pregnancy test. 1 minute will tell you one way or another.

Unless of course she herself is genuinely worried about the outcome and just wants to put off the inevitable?

Chances are she is not pregnant. As mentioned, the morning after pill throws your cycle off. The doctor, or pharmacist should have explained that to her. So then her period isn't actually "late", which might be another reason for her not wanting to do a test.

Talk to her about your worries. Listen to her reasons for not doing a test, and between you, you should be able to decide what is best for you both. But you should both be able to talk to each other openly and honestly without fear of the other one's reaction.

Honestly though, if you've had a scare, I can't see why she wouldn't do a test to reassure you.

The chances of her being that unlucky are slim. The MAP can bring on a period early or delay it by weeks, it messes with the normal menstrual cycle. I'd advise her to take a test if I were you. I am sure she will be fine so try not to worry.

    Thanks for the responses everyone.

She's freaked out by the prospect of taking a test and she just wants to wait and see.

I went to the chemist and bought a test for her today and told her I'd like her to take it. I said I'll give it to her and she can decide herself then.

I asked the pharmacist about the morning after pill possibly delaying the period. The guy seemed unsure but then said that it shouldn't; if anything it should cause it to be early. This worried me a little but most of what I've read online suggests that it could cause it to be late.
