Does anyone know if it is possible to take up a language in 2nd year? I did french for the LC and am kind of regretting not keeping it in college.

    Thanks in advance

It is an option but i think that they (administrators/teachers etc) will tell you it is preferable that you studied it in 1st year, it is not french, but legal french, a different legal system also that would have been learnt in first year, would put you at a disadvantage. The alternative is business finance , but I would imagine it is up to you at the end of the day, and the selection is made online so if you really want to do it then no one can stop you. Maybe email des mcsharry, the law administrator about it, i didn't do french so im of limited use to ya, ask people that did it in 2nd year if you would have needed to do it in first year is the next step for you.

Sorry, but you won't be able to take up Legal French if you haven't done it in first year.

You should however consider doing the diploma in French (a 2 year diploma). It will add seriously value to your degree, and it could be useful for working in the European institutions. You should also seriously consider doing the diploma in Irish (2 years) and maybe looking into working as a lawyer-linguist. It is very rare that law graduates have Irish and/or French and want to work in Europe, so you have good job prospects.
