Storage for Bulk dry goods

Looking for some suggestions for this.

I have the need to store a quantity of some dry food stuffs (like seeds) that is in original packaging.
Probably at least a pallet of stuff, plus more.

I would like to use our garage for this storage, there is plenty of room however from an Environmental Health Officer's point of view, it may not be up to scratch.
There would be a risk of rodents gaining access and I doubt i'll be able to stop them getting in.
So with that in mind, id like to get some sort of large plastic storage box, like a large plastic coal bin or something that would keep my goods dry, but also prevent rodents from getting into anything.

Someone suggested using a ibc water container, (the large 1m squared cubes you see on building sites to store water) and perhaps cutting a door, fitting hinges etc, but how could that be made good enough to keep rodents and insects out?
Could I use a hot glue gun and some gasket type material around the cut-out of the "door"?

Plastic garden container might look o.k but I doubt the seal is tight enough to keep out small insects. A mouse can squeeze through a gap the size of a persons thumb. What about using a couple of large chest freezers that dont work any more- metal skinned[mouseproof],great seal[insect proof], insulated [stopping seeds from deteriating during hot weather].....and free to collect.:)

Yeah i was looking at those garden storage things.
Not sure how many i would need to store a pallet of stuff tho.
    Probably 4 or even 6?
    Could get a little expensive

    Chest freezer idea is good.
    I might look for one.
Not quite ideal though because the shear weight of those things.
I'm a renter, and will invariably move house at some point.
But it is a good suggestion, cheers.

    Big wheelie bin?
    Yeah i like it.
I wonder could i keep it on it's side so i can access the stuff inside?

I'd be a little shy to acquire a 2nd hand one tho, no idea what's been kept in it.

    250€ excluding VAT, yikes!

So, back to the icb water containers...
Think it's possible to cut a hole, use the cut-out as a door, hinge it and maybe put some sort of material gasket type stuff around the opening to get a seal?

Depending on what volume you are looking to store, see if you can get your hands on an old (non working) fridge. Plenty of shelving, and a sealed door that rodents can't get through. Been using them for years for this very purpose.
