    Hi,
I have recorded several videos on my phone, samsung galaxy s2, and copied them to my laptop. when copying I clicked cut by mistake so once cut to my laptop i then copied them back to my phone. After this I could play all the videos except for one, the most important one!!! Is there any way I can get this to play? Windows media player says it cannot play as it does not have the required codec. I have the codec as all the other videos play. Also the video will not play on my phone either. I have the file on both, its there just wont play:confused:
    Any help appreciated

I now find the KM player better than VLC. Have a look here.

Try ffmpeg and conver it to a differen format. Sounds like the file is corrupted.

    Thanks for the replies
Im not altogether brilliant with computers and ffmpeg seems fairly complicated to use, I tried another free mp4 to wma converter and it was unable to work. Is ffmpeg any different to other video converters? as in would it be worth trying after the other one failed?

From your first post it sounds like one of the videos has become corrupt during copying.

In which case there is little you can do. Trying to convert a corrupt file won't be any more successful than trying to play it since the first step in both is essentially the same (decode).

OP, I might try to do it for you wit ffmpeg. Upload the file somewhere or send me a PM.

Download the k-lite codec pack..comes with almost every codec you'll ever need..it also comes with media player classic which is a great alternative to VLC If you don't want to use that.

It's sounds like the video is corrupt tho in which case there may be very little you can do I think

wma is an audio format, you're going to want to try to convert it to another video format.

It does sound like it's been corrupted though.
