Irish Based On-line shop?

Im looking for a decent, Irish based, on-line shop. Im getting a bit sick of paying the bigger online shops for stuff and then the price going up the next day. Wiggle are demons for this.

At least if I feel I'm putting cash into the Irish economy I might feel marginally better!!

I usually buy bikes etc from my LBS, but things like tubes and chains are so standard I don't mind buying online.

    Any suggestions?

I'd totally forgot cycle superstore had an online shop. :roll eyes:

Looking at tubes here here but can't figure out of its one tube for a tenner..... which seems steep to say the least.

Fitzcycles have pretty good deals online now and then. There's a flat EUR10 shipping fee, but you can get enough of a discount to cover it.
Details are in the link below, or follow on facebook/newsletter to get notifications

Yea, I've heard bad things about credit card details being lost/stolen from their site though.

The Credit Card issue was 2 years ago, and I suspect CRC's security is as good as anyone's nowadays, as they (and their insurers) would not want to have to deal with the consequences of another security issue

There are a number of others based in the North (www.slanecycles.com for example), and a lot of traditional shops do online sales (such as http://www.cycleways.com and www.eurocycles.ie in addition to the ones already named)

    Thanks for the replies all.

Im flying through tubes at the moment which is what I'm mainly after. (Its due to roads not the wheel)

At the moment I'm using Schwalbe tubes out oh habit/ignorance to anything else.

As was pointed out there tubes for €3.50 on CRC. Is there a huge difference in whats on offer? Presuming I don't want self sealing tubes etc. (Or are they worth it?) Only getting back into road cycling recently.

    Cheers,
    John

The CRC site displays the PCI compliance logo so should be totally safe.

how does it affect you if the price goes up after you've bought and paid for the thing? surely that's a good thing, you got it cheaper... ?

Ednwireland made a recommendation on Friday for a one day sale on fitzcycles.ie
I ordered a jacket on Friday afternoon and it was delivered Monday lunchtime, great service altogether.

Cyclesuperstore.ie have a loyaly card system as well. If you sign up you can use it to shop online and the prices are adjusted automatically as you view the items.
They give 10% off most items.

PlanetX in Athlone have some good deals too. Here's 5 tubes for €20. http://planetxireland.com/products-page/deals-of-the-week/5-tubes-for-e20/

Learning to repair tubes is a great way to save money.

Id sooner keep the money in the Republic to be fair, unless its much cheaper.
My company suffers badly by people dropping us for a cent here and there to buy in N.Ireland.

Had some money in my paypal account and decided to try it out when I made my last order... very quick indeed!

I would highly recommend CRC. Have had nothing but good, reliable and efficient experiences with them.
