    Hi All

Having all my windows and doors replaced with A-rated uPVC units in upcoming weeks. The internal finish of the windows will involve a timber architreve/ moulding on the internal perimeter of the windows. This will be roughly similar to what is shown in the picture. Obviously there will be new window boards aswell.

My question is as follows : Would it be reasonable for me to ask the guy to allow me to undercoat/sand/topcoat the moulding BEFORE he puts it on ? i.e. just take big long lengths of it and paint it (much easier I'm thinking) before its up ? Is this going to be met with a sigh ? I'm thinking it would be easier for me to do it that way than trying to paint it after and not get the wall etc....

There's no point in doing any more than undercoating the timber as when it is cut small pieces will chip away which you are going to have to come back and touch up any way which will probably look worse.
