Building a carage on it's own plot of land

Hi all, has anyone ever seen planning permission given for the building a non-commercial car garage on its own plot of land, i.e. not attached to a house?

I am looking to purchase a small plot of land from a housing developer that has been left undeveloped within a housing development. The land is zoned for "Residential amenity" and does not form part of any green space allocation for the development.

I have searched for planning applications but have not found anything like this? would anyone know if this is allowed, in principal, on residential zoned lands? would anyone have any planning applications numbers I could reference? based in South Dublin County Council area.

what dwelling will the garage serve?? how close will it be?

if its not commercial, what will it be used for? storage?

Would be used for storage and parking a car up for a few days at a time. more or less what i used to use the garage in my old house for. Where the land is, the house would be on the next road over, about 2-3 minute walk.
