I'm hoping someone can help. I was made redundant at the end of January after 16 years. The company liquidated so I have to apply to the state for redundancy. Our application was received on the 29th of Feb. Has anyone recently gone through the same process and can tell me how long it actually takes ,was told so many different wait times from 6 weeks to 9 months. I applied online through a liquidator.Thanks.

A friend of mine went through this process a good number of years ago - he found it very slow - up to a year.
How long it would be nowadays I have no idea.

i work for a company that has made a good few redundancies over the last year, in terms of getting our refund from the state as said before it varies, one took 1 month another took 6 month, no consistancy tbh,

Again thanks for the advice. Can anyone answer this for me,was let go end of Jan called in on my week off told on the fri no work mon.He closed the shop on the sat liquidated the company. He claimed he had no money so we have to go through the state to get paid.He didnt give us a penny leaving. 6 weeks later he reopened the shop didnt tell us,he just kept his two sons on,and now i've heard he took on someone else. Is this legal. How can he expect the government to pay us when he can obviously afford to still trade. It just doesn't seem right. Grateful for any advice.
