Does anyone know how you can do races without signing up to a club or cycling Ireland, as I would just like to do races now and again but I'm stuck doing duatholons and I dont really like running as it takes time away from cycling.

If you want to do road racing in Ireland you need insurance, and the only way is via a CI/Club or IVCA (vets) licence - the IVCA have closed off their racing licence list this year, so your only remaining option is via CI (either club competition or open licence)

You can turn up on the race day in question (ie. open race) and get a one-day licence.

    From CI:
The cost of a one day RACE licence is €20 if the rider is NOT a member of Cycling Ireland, and €10 if the rider IS a member of Cycling Ireland but does not possess a CI licence
