Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. I have a '98 W210 E200 Classic Merc. Mechanically sound but recently getting a strange problem. I refilled the windscreen washer reservoir and the petrol gauge went mad; it jumped by a quarter at least! Also the external temp gauge is showing 47.5 degrees C. I cleaned the contacts on the reservoir top and checked the connections, I also cleaned the connections on the FSU. They all seem fine. I wouldn't be the most knowledgeable about these things but willing to learn.

Lol, should the op go to his mechanic and ask for that to be replaced?
