terrible Liberty Insurance costumer service

i have just experienced one of my worst costumer service moment,
i have contacted Liberty insurance to obtain quote for my car insurance, lady over the line was rude from the first minute but when she started laugh in the middle of the conversation and then put me on hold for 2 minutes and then line was disconnected, (i think she just hanged up.)

I thought they will call me back cos they asked for mobile phone straight away. But it never happened. So i have contacted them again to find out what happened and they did not even bother to apologize.

For new Insurance Company on the market, great costumer service should be a priority and as well as American companies are known for great costumers service and approach, i was really disappointed.

I can't imagine to deal with such a costumer service with claim it must be a nightmare if they have such approach to new potential costumer.

I will not bother to contact this company ever again.

SO same as Quinn direct then. Probably the same staff. Send a letter of complaint with a request to be contacted by a manager, remember these calls are recorded.

    What's so terrible about this?

What you described seems to be the average level of service over all those insurance companies call centres, no matter what insurance company is it.
We should all be used to it by now.

Fair play to Liberty Insurance, they have came back to me during the week and they have listened back our conversation and apologized.

But little too late at least something was done

Did they mention any action plan or change of proceedure as a result of your complaint? Get a discounted quote?

''Sorry boss'' wouldn't do for me!

I was with Quinn before and found the service pretty rubbish, rang for a quote last week and it was like they were doing me a massive favour.
Got a better price and policy from Zurich through my local broker (munster group) who were really helpful

    That you mention Munster group.
I was told contact them, They quoted me 461 full comp/full bonus protection etc.

My own quote came in from my local in the post yesterday, 441

    Both with Zurich .
Might be worth a shot for you to ring them?

I would not dismiss all company, just because of one twat.

I am with Quinn ( now liberty ) for 4 years and there were more good then bad. It always depends on person that gets your call.

I had sorted a lot of small things with no problems. Then when I got my bangornomics mondeo, some lialia refused to insure, she said it was out of nct... I then hang up, redialled and got some fella who sorted out everything in less then 3 minutes.
I got renewal few weeks ago and I was very happy with it, so i just kept it. They called me a week before renewal and were very nice. Even said thank you for choosing their company for so many years. Droped premium by another 50 eu from qoute. Happy as pig in shiet.

They did apologised, and that's a main thing. It is very very rare they do that, Ussually it's: you don't like it? Get qoute somewhere else.

I have never had a problem with quinn but recently got insurance with aviva through AA. I payed for it etc online and then I changed my car and realised there was NO online system at all?? Then when I rang to change it and I had to give every little detail about the car over the phone. They couldn't get the details about the car etc from the reg, and when the letter arrived the year of the car was stated as 2007 even though the numberplate was a 06 and the car was a vw golf plus 2.0 tdi instead of a 2.0 gti. arghh. Will be going back to quinn next year Id say. There was never any hassle and if I wanted to change something I could do it online and there was no mistakes unless it was on my end.

I would never use them again. I find their customer service reps very rude and arrogent.

With Quinn (Liberty) for 3 years and any time I've had to contact them they've always been very helpful, never had a complaint.

I would always insure through a broker rather than directly. €20 is a tiny difference. If you have an incident you will find that having a good broker is the best thing you can have. That applies even if you are not the party at fault.
