possible salvaged bits

My bike was recently in a bad accident and was written off.

    It is a giant bicycle.

There *might* be some salvageable bits on it... I'm not sure - I'm great at buying bikes and shiny bits for bikes but not great at how any of those bits work !!

The bars might be ok, stem, seat-post, full length mudguards, crankset (not 105, some cheapo shimano job), shifters (old 105 9speed), brake calipers (long reach), front derailleur (tiagra i think but old).

This stuff is not suitable for somebody like me who doesn't know what they are at - it is only for people who know bikes and would be able to assess whether or not any of this stuff is safe to use.

It is free to a good home. I would prefer some of the regular posters on here to have it and I would also prefer not to see it back up for sale in a week or two if you find it to be in OK - just take the stuff if you might have some use for it. Will have to be collected.

If someone comes to look at it and decides its scrap, i'll bin it - if you take it away and find that a lot of it is reusable - maybe throw 20 or 30 quid towards barretstown or temple street hospital afterwards ??

    Thanks.

I would be interested in having a look at the mudguards if they are still available.
    Where abouts are you based?

    Thanks very much Wersal.

Hmmzis, if/when I get this stuff off Wersal I can pm you to pass on the mudguards if you like as I already have a set going spare so don't need these (save Wersal the hassle of organising two pick-ups). Otherwise the two of you can arrange pick up of the mudguards seperately between yourselves if you prefer.

Excellent, please PM me when you get them. Thanks Tony and Wersal, very much appreciated.
