    Hi,

We have not been charging VAT to companies with a valid VAT number in the UK ~ I just want to clarify that this is correct.

I am unable to find anything on the revenue website.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    This an Intra Community Supply/Acquisition.

So long as you obtain and retain in your records the purchasers UK Vat reg number (purchaser must be VAT reg in another member state) including the country prefix (GB) and issue all invoices with that number on it you can supply the goods at the Zero rate. A UK purchaser will most likely required the sterling equivalent price to be on the invoice as well. The Goods must be transported from one member state to another for this to apply - from Ireland to UK.

It is up to the purchaser to self account for the VAT due when they make their VAT return.
