South East Asia in 7 weeks.

Hoping for some advice! I've spent ages on many travel blogs trying to figure out a route to take around South East Asia. I fly into Bangkok and out of Singapore and only have seven weeks.

I found a great route where I go from Bangkok up to Chiang Mai, on to Laos, then from Vientiane to Hanoi in Vietnam, travel down to Ho Chi Minh. Then from there to Cambodia, then back to Bangkok and then maybe fly to Singapore.

But there's probably not enough time for that? I'm not sure if there is or not. The girl I'm going with wants to cut Vietnam altogether, but it seems like a great country. Does anyone have any advice on a good route to take to make most of the time? I appreciate any help :)

Flights from Phnom Penh to Singapore are usually cheap. Ya can save some time not going back to bangkok.
