Hi folks we recently purchased a samsung ue40d5520 tv and have window 7 on both laptops at home. Last night my tv suddenly recognised my pc in the drop down menu. I was thinking brill ! Will I be able to stream movies stored on my laptop on the tv via the wireless router but alas no joy I have not been able to I'd the pc or tv since. Any ideas about how to do this or do I have to do the usual plug pc into removable hd and move files to
That then plug that hd into tv and play from there? Pain in de ass would obviously preferr to just turn tv on and use one remote etc! Any suggestions?
    Cheers

    Hi there,

You can buy a wireless dongle for this TV that will enable you to access your wireless network. You can then access any files shared from other devices on the wireless network via DLNA on your TV. Alternatively if you can, you can wire the TV to your router with an ethernet cable.

We have it wired to the router through a eternet cable yet the tv does not recognise the other PC on the network. Any ideas? cheers

I`d check the firewall on the PC to see if it`s blocking access. Can you access the PC with another device over your network?
Also have you enabled sharing for the folder`s on the PC you need to access?

You may also need to download a media server such as Plex or PS3 Media server (don`t worry it`s not just for the PS3) onto your PC.

I have a samsung TV (Le32d550) connected to my Router via ethernet. I have both a NAS box and a (very old) PC running windows xp that the TV accessing media such as Movies, TV shows etc. I have PS3 Media server installed on the PC and the TV has no problem accessing shared files. The media server should come up as an option when select the source button on the TV remote.

Cool, I got the 2 PC in the gaff sharing through homegroup network on win 7. I thought that all I needed to do was turn on the tele and use the remote to find the PC. It finds one but not the other yet it wont access the PC it finds. any ideas welcome?
