It seems someone is driving this country towards the edge on taxes to put out any cars above 2 litre out of the roads to save what ? planet, more money for government,or that Americans could drive v8s first day they get their license.

how is that normal if you can buy a car that cost nearly 20 times more when bought first, and now it would cost you more to tax and run it for a year nearly twice its price including petrol.while inland you would get at least 3-4 times for the same car if the steering wheel was on the right side :),someone could make a fortune exporting 5-3 series bmwers and s mercs just for parts alone, while goverment here doesnt give a f**k about the cars or neither the roads,as most of the motorways anyway are built on EU funding, and such joke as carbon is isnt excuse,if americans can run v8 no hassle there, why should it cost here more, while all the nice luxobarges are rotting because running costs are twice the car almost. ?I could also rant about insurance but gonna leave it for next time.Any oppinions or just shut up and bend over for the ones above

You're complaining that luxobarges are so cheap?

But the steering wheel is on the right side?

And a new S-Class for 45k? I'll have one please. In silver. Thanks.

I wonder what the motor tax is on that?

my mistake left, and price comparing is just quick estimate as there are plenty of cars that were over 100k just few years ago, just look at bmw x5-6,unless government is introducing a scheme for classic cars where you buy one put in the shed and wait until it becomes classic :pac:

    Indeed.
Incoherent megababble belongs there, by all accounts....

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Sorry, but your discussion is done to death, god knows I've participated in enough of them. Best not to think about the tax, it will only ruin your evening. ;)

They're cheap because motor tax is so high.

Yes I agree a road tax along side the current motor tax would be excessive.
