Hot tap flows cold water for ages

Basically have a combi gas boiler and in the en-suite upstairs the tap in the basin 2+ minutes for the hot water to start flowing.
No other tap in the house is like this.
Had a "plumber" out to look at it and he tells me
"Its because when I turn on the tap and because the tap is the last one on the circuit, the water has to go to all the other taps first before it reaches this one":confused::mad::D

When i turn tap slow it still takes the hot water the same length of time to get to tap.
I would like to get this sorted because its nearly taking 3 basins of water before the hot water comes.
    Thanks.

It depends on the set up. What plumbers sometimes do is set a combination boiler 2 ways,

1, Is the hot to the sink heats up instantly. This is because the mains cold is branched off into the combi. This can be checked by looking at the mains cold.

    2. Then some combis are set up the traditional way as a system boiler. This would mean you are relying on the water in the cylinder to be heatd first.

I am guessing totally without looking but your house may have a combination of both. ie instant mains and system bathroom.

If this is the case a plumber can advise you on regulation but i see no harm with it.

It is probably the furthest tap away from the boiler and line is full of cold water. There may also be a delay in the boiler firing. Get someone to turn on tap while another stays at boiler, see if there is a delay in firing.

    Thanks Lads.

The boiler is downstairs and the tap in question is approx 5-6mtrs away from the boiler. Assuming that the pipe work from the boiler is 2mtrs to get to the upstairs is this considered far?

One thing is if I run the tap slow it takes the same amount of time for water to get hot as I would when I have it on full flow.
