Yo I wonder have any of you been following this story recently? It's certainly a tale with serious conspiracy theory potential. For those not familiar with the case, a good background can be found here. Of course there's lots of articles in the MSM although a lot of them have the flavour of a cover story or disinformation eg this Guardian article from 2010 or this Independent article from more recently. Maybe I'm just imagining this of course but I definitely think there's more to the story....

    For your consideration;
    • He was found dead in his locked apartment sealed into a sports bag. Despite being missing for 2 weeks, his body was in a highly advanced state of decomposition such that the police suspect some substance was used to accelerate the decay. The official line is he killed himself in a Michael Hutchence type scenario.
    • He was a gifted code breaker - 1st Class Mathematics student at Cambridge at only 17 and "recruited" on campus by GCHQ/MI6.
    • He supposedly was involved in super secret projects such as ECHELON and may have been involved in protecting/detecting this Russian sleeper cell.
    • He was a regular visitor to NSA HQ in Fort Meade and had visited the Maryland based spy base in the months preceding his death.
    • The regular cops are obviously hindered in their investigation by the fact that they can't even determine the cause of death and key witnesses are operating well above their pay grade.
    • What kind of employer doesn't bother to check on the welfare of one of their employees for TWO WEEKS? Especially when he's a spook!
    • His paymasters are not really co operating with the police or the inquest nor can they realistically be compelled to.
    • His extremely subtle character assassination in the mainstream media. Though I could well be wrong about that. :pac:
Check out this blog for some mad but compelling theories. All completely unverifiable of course.

Personally I think some of that stuff is a bit far fetched...was it a hit by a foreign intelligence service? Was he a double agent? Was he killed because he knew too much? Was his murder a warning to other "employees" to keep their mouth shut about
the Satan worshiping paedophiles that make up the powers behind the throne?
(Okay I might have went a bit far with that one!

    Anyone got any ideas then?

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/nov/20/gareth-williams-spy-mi6
Cold war details increased public fervour. The building in which the body was found was owned by a private company, registered offshore, called New Rodina. Rodina was Russian for "motherland".

What are the chances a russian spy agency named the holding company "new motherland" and considered it safe to put their counter intel agents into its letted properties..in the middle of london?
    Zero me thinks!

If anyone was up to something with that company name it may be Mi6 trying feebly to blame the assassination on an old enemy for the sake of public appearances.
Honestly nobody would be that stupid.Just doesnt make sense that it was the russians.

Hmmm... unless the russians are playing that game so we think its not them! aha!
Depends how stupid the public are..would the average person be intelligent enough to spot what i just did in 2 minutes?
At a wild guess..If so it was the russians..if not it was the english.

I feel sorry for the lad and his family. These agencies can be so brutal to achieve a goal.

Also i havent read alot into it.But he may have been to the states and if the americans for some reason wanted to interrupt english intel, it might be fun for them to put a little russian marker in there aswell to cover their tracks.

also yes a slight character assassination also. Why would you zip yourself into a bag and decompose yourself in some sort of liquid?
But of course..for the sexual thrill!

Yup this has been all over the news for the last few days. He seemed to be quite unhappy with his job at MI6. All experts say there was no way the bag could have been locked by himself. Very shady altogether.

Everyone seems to be stumped and the case just keeps getting weirder and weirder..

Damn i didnt know this was so recent..dont watch the news.
I hope my comments are not offensive as i do feel for the victim and family.
My sarcasm is out of disrespect for the government and its agencies telling lies and defaming a persons name for profits.

He died about 18 months ago. His inquest is being held at the moment. Tis a strange one alright. Like jonny says, there was no way he padlocked that bag himself.

Unlawful killing!, murdered without or with nit-wick picked evidence, all evidence was given to MI6 before disclosure to the legal system.

As a code-breaker, his mobile would have been monitored 24/7, just incase he let his cats out of the bag, he and his home would have been monitored 24/7, yet it took a week for his employers to report him missing, yet they would have had a key to his apartment as it was spy property.

My conclusion: killed by his employers.

Reason: Knew too much, they got what was required from him and couldn't hack being tortured to keep those secrets, secret.

If thats true the media really has people dumbed down!
I think that was the case also.

It just doesn't make sense to me that MI6 would kill him in a such a bizarre way that would do nothing but lead to more questions and suspicions. It makes the whole thing increadibly messy. I suspect that if MI6 weren't involved in his death, that it could be possible that they went looking for him, found the body, did their own mini-investigation and the cleaned up the apartment afterwards (which would explain the lack of prints in the bathroom.

The whole thing is odd, no matter what way you approach it.

Maybe its odd because there is something going through British parliament at the time and they needed something to distract the newspapers and public for a while.Could have been two birds with one stone.

    Maybe reverse psychology.....?

Who has been found guilty?, who does it point to?, would they be that clever or stupid?

I know very little about this case but on BBC a few days ago they reported that he regularly watched bondage porn on his phone. I know they can tie that in with how he killed himself but it just seems very odd.
