Monitor problem

I have a 5 year old desktop PC - Scaleo P by Fujitsu Siemens. Recently the monitor suddenly displayed a green/blue colouration. I switched to another monitor I have and the same thing applies so I have concluded it must be a hardware problem in the tower. Is this worth getting repaired? I could probably live with it provided it does not not fail entirely soon. Is this likely?
    Any advice welcome.

Try a complete uninstall and re-install of the video card driver, to help with this you can use Driver Sweeper. If that fails the video controller is likely the issue

IT sounds like its the graphics card,if you are not a gamer, You can buy a basic graphics card for 30 euro. And disable the motherboard graphics unit, if thats what you are using.
TRY turn on pc,press f8, select safemode, vga mode ,use arrows,up,down, select vga mode, press enter.
IF picture is now normal, its likely a grahics card driver issue,as in moderators post above.
Try safe mode before you buy anything.
VGA safe mode uses the basic vga driver built into windows, which works on any graphics card.

Try re-seating the graphics card (if there is a separate one). Cheap and easy to replace if it's dead.

    See http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/pcs/104581/fujitsu-siemens-scaleo-p

if this is your pc it uses nVidia GeForce 7500LE graphics card ,

    see http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=44315
according to that thread ,that card is unreliable ,prone to image display problems.
it can be replaced by another pci-express graphics card.
    See here for a driver,http://www.geforce.com/Drivers
5 years is a good time to get use of a card.

Very peculiar - it has come back to normal again. An intermittant problem - the hardest to solve:confused:

Thanks to all those who responded

Maybe the card just was too hot.

Buy a can of air duster and blow out any dust on the heatsink and fans in short bursts to help with the air flow around the fans and heatsink.
