Thought the gradient would've been steeper than that in parts. Tough ol climb so it is. Great surface though.

Yay, new climb to try out. Good stuff.

Been up it a few times. It's a nice climb alright. Just constantly goes and is gradual.

I thought it was steeper than 9.6%, I thought I saw 14% on my Garmin.

yep, it feels steeper than 9.6% - GPS/Google maps could be out

Strava says 15.7% at 2.57km into that segment.

    edit: probably not

Yep, thats it. I suppose this thread will allow non-strava persons to compare times.

I knew my 14:01 was beatable but <10:00 is very impressive. I might get it down to 12 on a really good day.

I've done that climb once. Blorg and myself were cycling down to Waterford to watch the 2008 TOI stage finish (Cav won). For reason's best known to himself, Blorg decided to route us over that hill.

As kids we went up that hill regularly just for the thrill of coming back down again. It must have been resurfaced as the road used to be in bits, largely due to the fact that many a car was burned out on it.

9.6% max? Pfft, I don't get out of bed for anything less than 10%. (...and then I get the car.)

Finally did this climb this morning when I happened upon a sign for Hazel Grove golf club. Didn't pace myself right at all. The first section seemed very steep and it's not too bad after that. I kept thinking it would get that steep again and had plenty left in the tank when I got to the top. 12:35 according to my Cateye. Definitely room for improvement.
