Was wondering has anyone used these tyres and what are yere thoughts? Would like to know how ye found them in the wet/dry and tyre wear. The reviews online seem to be positive for both. The vredestein are quite expensive compared to the Kumho. Thanks in advance lads.

I have Sessantas on a few month and I am very happy with them so far. Cannot comment on the Kumho.

I had ordered Goodyear Eagle f1's a couple of weeks ago from a place at a great price but was then told they were out of stock and they not sure when they would get them, after already waiting a couple of weeks with extremely dodgy tired I ended up getting the sessanta's yesterday. I've only had them one day but the thing I noticed so far is the much lower road noise and smooth the ride is... So far, so good

Thanks lads. I'm looking at 110 for kumho and 160 for the sessanta. The sessanta does seem to be the better tyre. The kumho does seem to get very good reviews for what you're paying for them.

ell that's a difference of 200 euro for a set which is alot tbh. What car are you putting them on and what sort of driving will you be doing?? Maybe someone could help you decide once you tell us?

I have had the Kumho on my own BMW and convinced my dad to put like wise on his CLK. In both instances I found them to be superb tyres in normal use if they did wear a little quickly on the BMW but the tracking was miles out. Depending on size etc I got them for 95 fitted. 225/55 on front and 235/40 on back AFAIR ( 2 years ago ) if you are based in Dublin I can give you a pointer - he basically matched the online price I found for them

I have the kunmos on my mondeo st
Find them great much better than the Bridgestone touranzas I was used to

I have Kumho's on two vehicles one a 4x4 and the other a performance estate both on 17 inch wheels.
I have nothing but praise for them good roadholding wet and dry good road noise and what seems to be ,so far, acceptable wear rate .
They replaced Yokohamas and Bridgestones respectivly and we have found no disadvantages at all.
I bought both sets from http://www.camskill.co.uk/ and had them fitted and balanced locally for € 10 / wheel.

    hi

I have Sessantas on my merc since jan and I am very happy with them , nice and quiet and very grippy on the road in all conditions. Can not comment on the Kumho though.

try camskill.co.uk for prices as they were the cheapest delivered to the door < they currently have them on special at £94 per tyre >.

    regards

    brendan

Thanks for all the comments. Exactly what I was hoping for. I'm driving an Audi A3 2.0tdi 140bhp. Kind of thinking that the Kumho is for me now. I only need two at the moment. I'm based in Galway. I'm hoping to lower the price I was quoted.

Kumho prices for both tyres, delivered and fitted:
    Camskill: 186.27
    eiretyres: 220.20
    Pneus-online: 223.22

Local shop: 230 (before I get a discount)

    Interesting.

Are you adding on the 10-15 euro fitting cost per tyre to those totals?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 251 ✭✭hanloj1

    Damn.

Forgot to add 10e fitting to

    eiretyres: 240.20
    Pneus-online: 243.22

Camskill included the 10e per tyre fitting.

sessanta are supposed to be excellent the kumhos are decent aswell , i have only one problem with the sessanta they are NOT reasonably priced they aim themself at the Mid range tyre market but are equally or more expensive than goodyear or dunlop

While I do agree there not cheap, i still think there a good bit (per 4 at least) than Dunlop or Goodyear etc. But I suppose it all depends on where your getting tyres too, where I'm from, there's a huge price difference between garages for the same brand. I'm really enjoying my sessanta's though I have to say so maybe I'm a bit biased! ;)

So that makes them better than the vredesteins?

If you want to buy cheaper tyres but cheaper tyres but don't try convince yourself that the kumhos are better

I find that the Sessantas are better value the bigger and wider the size tyre is. On the common sizes yes they are close if not the same price as the likes of Goodyear and Bridgestone.

Mine are there all right.225/40/18 coming in at €138 per corner which is good. I'm based in Galway though.

My sessanta's have broken in now so decided to test them a little on a quiet road in the awful conditions, they never missed a beat im happy to say, so I would recommend these tyres, im very happy with them :)

Just to let ye know. I went with the Kumho KU37. They didn't get bad feedback and they were more in my budget. I ended up getting two 225/40/18 for 170e delivered to door from Callaghan's in donegal. Ordered on Wednesday and got them Thursday. Savage service. Got them fitted for 8e per corner up the road from me.

Thanks a million for all the feedback lads.

8E/corner is really good price. If wheel are balanced properly, you got really good deal. Wish to be wiser weeks ago when paid for my tires...
